I am a nice person, atleast I would like to think I am. I am genuiely nice to sales representatives. I have been in retail, and I know how annoying customers can be. Customers had made me cry, and I made customer cried before. From all these experiences, I tried not to be one of those bratty customer and act the way I would wanted to be treated if I was the sales rep. Unfortunately, I came across 3 different events, two of which is related to poor customer service, from 3 different companies in one morning that made my day very unpleasant.
First Encounter
Usually I scan calls, like every other person that have called ID. When you see a phone number that you dont recognize and its not from the same area code, you dont pick up, right? Thats what I did this morning, while I was in the bathroom getting ready for class. A guy name JT (think Justin Timberlake) was recording a voicemail regarding an appointment this afternoon that suppose to come to my house for repairs. In the middle of his recording, I picked up, and he told me who he was and asked if he could come over earlier because his morning appointments was cancelled. I paused, thinking a way to respond politely, and I told him no that wasnt possible because noone would be home. SHIT! Why did I just say that, now he probably going to tell some gangsters to rob our house because they would know noone is at home. He responded unhappily, and not so willingly said "Ok. Thank you". I was just about to say sorry, when he hang up on me. It was more like So (rattling voice at his end) -rrr (hang up) y. Okay. I feel bad now. I wasnt lieing, noone was going to be home. And, you dont have to be rude.
After class, there was another voice mail from JT. Now, he wanted us to call and reschedule. There was no reason why or whats going on. He just plainly gave the number and said please call to reschedule. Mmm..okay? Reschedule? I dont want to reschedule. I was prepare for you to come today. It just makes me think that his appointments this morning was cancelled this morning, he doesnt want to wait until the afternoon for my scheduled appintment. So, possible he took the day off? How unprofessional! Or was the morning appoint got cancelled an excuse? Whatever.
Second Encounter
This is the worst of the worst sales representative I have ever talked to. I called my cell phone company, AT&T, to add back a data plan that I cancelled about two weeks ago. For the first few seconds, it was like any other AT&T calls, she asked to confirm my information, asked how she could help me. All the while, I could hear a guy voice in a background conversation. I couldnt hear excatly what he was saying. What is going on? Where is she? Shouldnt she be in call center? Why can I hear a guy talking in the background? I told her that I would like to add a data plan on one of the cell phone lines. Then, she told me too hold while she gets the info up, and bleh bleh. She sounded antsy. Then, she told me that I already have a data plan on that phone line. I told her thats impossible, because I called two weeks ago to have the data plan taken off. Then she start gettinng all ghetto (no pun intented) with me. She asked me rudely, why did I cancelled it two weeks ago. I explained to her my phone was being repaired, so there was no need for the data service. Then, she said what, as if she couldnt hear me. So, I repeated, while checking my phone making sure I have full bars, which I did. Wait, I thought, why the fuck am I explanning to you! Then she rudely said that my family plan included data service, bleh bleh. So, I tried to explain to her thats not possible, I dont have data service on the phone. And she start to raise her voice and said, "You signed a contract, and you dont even know what service you have." and bleh bleh. Calmly, I explained to her that I know what my family plan is and I know I dont have data service on the phone. Ignoring what I said, she just went on loudly and rudely keep saying along the line with you have a contract and you dont even know what you service is. And, asked do you know what your family plan is. This is ridiculuous, I have a sale representative being extremely rude to me, and wait... wasnt I the one should be yelling because I was the customer? While she rumbles on about how I dont know what my signed plan is, I asked her what her name was, and she said "Christina". I asked her what her representative number was, while she keeps rumbling on. I asked her again what her representative number was? She asked me do you know what your plan is? do you know what you signed up for? I again politely yet demanding asked her what her representative number was. She responded I am waiting for your response. Excuse me, i thought, arent I the customer? Again, I asked for her representative number. Then, she start rumbling on you dont even know your family plan, and then a few second silent. Then, I heard the guy voice from the background saying "just hang up on her" and WHA-BAM! I got hung up on by an unqualified at&t representative. WTF is going on?
I quickly called back and was directed to another female representative. I told her that a representative just hang up on me, but regardless I want to add a data plan to my account. She checked my account and told me I dont have data plan on that line, and actually have a data block. She doesnt know what the other representative was talking about. THANK YOU!!!!! A lovely rep that actually knows how to do her job right!!!!!
Unfortunately, I didnt get the representative reference number of the so called Christina. So, I am not unsure if my complaint would even have get to her suprevisor. But, hopefully one day she will get serve. I was told that not all phone calls are recored, but hopefully it was. Mean to say, but I hope she get fire.
There nothing more frustrating than talking to a rude representative that doesnt know what they're doing, and ruin the day.
Third Encounter
This is not the sales rep fault. But, I received my repaired phone back today. Initially, I sent it in because the home button was not working, and theres a crack on the phone. I was told that my warranty doesnt cover physical dmanager, if the technicians find that its a physical damange they would need to fix it for a fee, which they will call and let me know. I never received a call regarding what they were going to do with my phone. They did not fixed the crack on the phone. AND, they switched the IMEI of the phone, so I cant use my old unlock code. Now, I have to wait 4 more days before they would send me my new unlock code, so I can use my phone!!
